Field Trip to Kensington Metro Park Nature Center

On January 20, my youngest, Jolene, and I went on a field trip with her preschool class to Kensington MetroPark's Nature Center. They have a great set up there to talk about and show all of nature's wonderful critters. Here are just a couple of pictures that I took.

Here is the presenter with a non-venomous snake. Snakes totally give me the creeps, and it seems they do the same with Jolene. She got up as soon as she saw it and came to sit with me. :o)

Now, this little turtle was kind of cute. Jolene wouldn't touch him either. She is the one in the picture with the pony tail.
I put this picture in so you could see all the stuffed animals all around. It was cool and weird all at the same time...
One really awesome thing that we did at the end was take bird seed out and hold it in our palms in the air. The little birds came, landed on your hand and took the seed. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures. It was so cool to have a wild bird land on your hand like that. Of course, most of the adults got to experience it. But for some odd reason (wink, wink) the birds stayed away from the antsy and fidgeting 3 years olds!
