We're #1!

A few weeks ago I posted that my daughter, Marissa's, cheerleading team won 2nd place in the regional cheerleading competition and would be competing in the state cheerleading competion. They won first place at the state competition today! I am so excited and proud of her!

The story of today...
My husband and I woke up at 4:30 a.m. in order to make it to Grand Rapids, MI for the competition. And in turn we carried the girls down to the car so they would stay asleep for the drive...perfect in theory, but it didn't happen that way. Marissa went back to sleep, which I am happy about since she was the one performing, but Jolene was awake the whole 2 1/2 hours! Geez, I don't know who's genes she got because both my husband and I require a lot of sleep to not be grouch heads.

I had put Marissa's hair up the night before and put those foamy rollers in it to make it curly, which was required for the competition. Well, the curlers did an okay job, but guess who forgot the hairspray! By the time the competition started all of Marissa's curls were gone :( I had asked the instructor to spray it, but she must have forgotten with all of the mayhem and preparations in the back room. AND I forgot to take a picture of her in the rollers!

I am so proud of my beautiful and talented girl! Enjoy the pics!

During the cheer part of the competition (there is cheer and dance) The look on her face is priceless!

Right after they won first place!
